Ghost Ship Ending Explained
The movie opens with a flashback to 1962 when a group of people are celebrating on a luxury ship. Suddenly, the wire in the ballroom rips and cuts everyone in half except for a young girl named Katie (played by Emily Browning). He screams in fear as he sees everyone around him dying.
Then we see the present day where a group of men on a salvage crew are celebrating their latest victory at a bar. They meet a man named Jack Ferryman (played by Desmond Harrington) who tells them about the Antonia Graza, a ship that disappeared in the Bering Sea many years ago. According to rumours, the ship contained a large amount of gold. Jack convinces the crew to go with him to find the ship.
The crew decides to go with Jack and when they reach the location, they can’t find the ship. But suddenly, their own boat hits a huge ship in the water. Fortunately no one was injured. Then, everyone except Jack and Greer board the mysterious ship and soon they start experiencing strange occurrences. They hear a ticking sound that leads them to a large clock in the ship’s ballroom. When one of the crew members touches the pendulum, the clock starts ticking loudly and they all get scared.
Suddenly, a message appeared on a Scrabble board, spelling out Welcome. It was very strange and suspicious. Suddenly the floor breaks and Munder is falling but Maureen Epps (played by Juliana Margulies) catches her. Maureen sees Katie there while pulling Munder up and suddenly she disappears. As the crew searched the ship, they discovered that someone had been aboard before them. They find a digital clock, although the digital clock didn’t exist when Antonia Graza disappeared in 1962. They also find a bottle of wine that runs on its own in the captain’s quarters. Then they return to their ship with that ship’s manual. At night Jack visits Maureen. Maureen says she saw a little girl on the ship. Jack doesn’t believe her and tells her to rest.
The next day, they find out that there is a big hole in the ship. As a result, this ship is gradually sinking. So they can’t pull the boat. Also, one of the crew members, Maureen, sees a little girl who looks exactly like Katie, the young woman who survived the crash in 1962. He becomes obsessed with finding out who the little girl is and why she is on the ship. Crew members saw multiple bodies. In the middle of the movie, Jack and Maureen go to a cabin where they see many dead bodies in the water and immediately decide not to stay there. While talking they saw some boxes full of gold. They called all the crew members there. Everyone was happy but a crew member mentioned the ghost singer but everyone ignored him.
As the crew tries to leave the ship with the gold, they encounter several terrifying experiences. One of the crew members falls into a pool which suddenly fills with blood. Another crew member sees the captain’s ghost, who reveals that the Antonia Graza has recovered a ship called the Lorelei, which has been missing for years. The gold on board the Antonia Graza was stolen from Lorelei and the Antonia Graza soon disappeared.
Eventually, the crew realizes that they are all ghosts, and have been captured by the mysterious figure who was on the ship before them. They can’t leave the ship until the number meets its quota. Then we know that the event happened in 1962 because of Jack. He was the one who killed everyone in 1962. Also the current Jack was a ghost who used to kill people on this ship. When Epes learns of this he approaches his crew leader. But his crew leader is gone.

He said how he does all the work here.
Also, he said that if Epps didn’t destroy the ship, he would give Epps a chance to save himself. But Epps refuses and Jack attacks Epps because of it.
